“Atelier im Treffpunkt” for Shoah survivors and their families

Since the summer of 2017 I have been running an open studio at the meeting point for Shoah survivors and their families in Frankfurt am Main. We meet every week to paint, draw, work with clay or just talk about art and culture. No prior knowledge is required. The topics that the participants deal with are diverse. What they have in common, however, is the examination of tradition and life. This may come as a surprise: given their fate, one expects pain, darkness, or maybe even bitterness. Instead, every guest who comes to visit the studio or one of our exhibitions encounters a colorful world, full of humour, strength and warmth of heart.
